DISCUSSION FORUM@RAGI KANA
J.C. Kumarappa was an Indian economist and a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. A pioneer of rural economic development theories, Kumarappa is credited with developing a school of economic thought he coined “Gandhian economics”. A recent book by academics Venu Madhav Govindu and Deepak Malghan presents the fascinating story of his life, work, and ideas. With the rural economy facing several challenges today, is it time to revisit some of those ideas?
Prof. Rajendra Chenni, Rangaswamy Elango and Rev. Dr. Dexter Maben discuss this and other aspects of rural development in the inaugural event of the Discussion Forum @Ragi Kana.
