Sustainable Hyderabad

Ecologise Hyderabad is a small group of activists concerned with the ecological crisis of the city. The aim of the group is to look at the ecological crisis of the city holistically with a perspective of sustainability and equality. The group’s work is to help activists in the city to prepare for the looming world crisis in near future. Cities play a central role in the functioning of the system. The big cities in today’s world, are becoming unsustainable. With the oil crisis they are falling apart and dying. Their future depends on whether they can reinvent themselves radically—reduce their energy consumption drastically to come closer to that of their hinterlands, and distribute energy equitably across all their residents.
