Announcing “Namma Neeru, Namma Mannu”  –  One Day Seminar on Urban Water Security, and Rural Livelihood Sustainability!   Please block your date for the Sat, 14th April 2018.

First half of the day will address Water Security, and How we can rescue our lakes and water bodies, and ensure water resilience for our city!  What fresh thinking is required so that we do not continue on the direction we have chosen in the past few decades that have led to the destruction of our lakes and our expensive dependance on a water source hundred kms away… And how can we citizens get engaged in protecting, rescuing and reviving the lakes in our neighbourhood?  How can we bring back sustainable water to the cities?

Second half will begin with screening of the movie: ‘Mitti – Back to Roots’.  This session will focus on Soil –  which is vital to Farming and Food, and how our ignorance on Soil, is leading to its decay and the resultant dependance on chemicals, and how its leading to Farmers distress across the country, how lakhs of our farmers are trapped in a vicious cycle of debts, and are committing suicides at an unprecedented scale; how can we start thinking afresh on what soil is, what growing food means, and how sustainable livelihoods can be revived in rural areas.
