WORKSHOP ON ENERGY TRANSITION AND TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGES

Ayyanthole, Thrissur
This one day workshop will look at the technical aspects of the energy transition from fossil fuels, with a specific focus on renewable energy and coal. Questions that will be addressed include advances in renewable energy technology – solar PV and hybrid systems, future projections, and issues around storage and battery systems, waste generation and mining. In the arena of coal, speakers will demystify the advances in super critical technology. The workshop will also look at how smart grids can sustain diverse forms of renewable energy and decentralised forms of production alongwith centralised forms. Participants include technology experts, representatives from the peoples science movement, engineers, academia and trade unionists.
