Gram Seva Sangh, in collaboration with Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and National Service Scheme (NSS), has given a call for a Mass Youth Satyagraha. The week-long event is being launched through a workshop on Non-violent Communication on 28.09.2018 at 11am at Senate Hall Central College, Bengaluru. Followed by workshops on Non-Violent Communication and on cultural expression at colleges in and around Bengaluru.
These events shall culminate in a Mass Youth Satyagraha, to be held on 6.10.18, between 9am and 4pm, at Ravindra Kalakshetra Grounds. On that day Hundreds of young people shall fast, to press for Religious Tolerance and Gramswaraj. Mass Satyagaraha of the youth will continue through the year 2018-19 across the country, as part of the celebration for One Hundred and Fifty years of GandhiJi’s birth.
Satyagraha Cultural Program
Well known artists shall join the Satyagrahi’s with Cultural programs pertaining to themes of Harmony and Gramswaraj. There will also be exhibitions-cum-sale of Books, Handlooms, Saplings, Organic products, etc. Besides Songs, Street-plays, Fashion Shows and Dances are also planned.
Why Satyagraha
Gram Seva Sangh believes in Nonviolent Youth Action. And in Gramswaraj. The wave of Intolerance sweeping India in particular and the world in general can only be contained by Politico-Economic decentralization as envisaged by GandhiJi. Growing economic disparity and mindless urbanization, we believe, is increasing intolerance.
Gram Seva Sangh
Gram Seva Sangh helps the city youth to make contact with and to learn from the village. Similarly Gram Seva Sangh helps villages to connect better with the market. It trains villagers in building equitable systems and organizations. To put it simply, Gram Seva Sangh is a bridge between the city and the village. In the recent past Gram Seva Sangh fought against the imposition of GST on all Handmade products through a Tax Denial Satyagraha.
Come and join Mass Youth Satyagraha with your family and friends, also circulate the mail across like minded groups, colleges and friends. Find attached Poster and Invite for your use.
