Soil Conservation Training
| Event Start Date: 7th April 2018 | Event End Date: 7th April 2018 | Event Venue: Chinthamani |
We all know that our soil microbes are Hungry and Thirsty and are drying – dying, because of violently treating them with chemical fertilizers and poisonous insecticides – herbicides etc. These hazardous chemicals, not only destroyed soil microbes and declined soil fertility but also trapped our farmers in debt and created dependency on high cost chemical based farm inputs.
There is an immediate need to build a peaceful and respectful relationship with soil microbes and humans by adopting DIVERSITY BASED ECOLOGICAL FARMING PRACTICES. This is a System Approach, addresses the Nutritional Security of Soil Microbes – Livestock – Humans.
To encourage small landholding farming communities under rain fed conditions to adopt this system, SOIL along with BALLI BALAGA( a grassroot level forum created by young organic farmers of Chinthamani) is organising Demonstrative Training Camp in two phases on CONSERVING OUR SOILS – SEEDS – FARMS.
* First phase of the training focuses on PRE – SOWING ACTIVITIES, will be held for three days during 1st week of April 2018
* Second phase of the training will focus on AFTER SOWING ACTIVITIES, will be held for 3 days during 1st Week of July 2018.
The focus of the training camp is on transforming a land into an ecological farm. This will be discussed with demonstration in a chronological manner during the two phases of the training camp.
The training fee is Rs. 2000/- for each phase of the camp. This includes food, accommodation and literature related to the subject.
The venue and other details of the programme will be informed after getting confirmation from participants.
